PIRATES PATCHOULI

Writing about Patchouli and Pirates is an interesting matter. There is a connection, even you won´t ever believe that at first view.

The wild, free and sometimes so cruel buccaneers had a huge relish for luxury and beautyful things. Of course jewelery and best destilled rum but also fashion, trends and  good styles. And fragrances!!

Particulary Patchouli combounds where highly searched and in splendid full vogue.
The patchouli leaves were generally used in those times to protect precious silk fabrics from animals damage and stocking on the long way stored in the deep ship´s hold from India and China to Europe

Maybe it was exactly this earthy aroma of the patchouli that gave a perfect counterpart to the ever-present aroma of the sea, shells, fish and sea breeze.
